Most of the twenty avatars I found in the Fortune Land sim were at Fantastic Fins-Aquarium & Club. There are three things you can do here (in addition to feeding Lindens into some scripted objects): fish, dance and gamble. I arrived during a fishing contest, made possible by the 7 Seas fishing system.
The way this apparently works is you pay L$1 for a basic fishing pole and you catch random fish. You can catch rarer fish using bait or an advanced pole, and those cost money. You can do this for fun, keeping the fish you catch, or you can fish during these contests, which I gather are hosted by the fishing system maker and not necessarily the venue. I'm not sure what you can win, but there are apparently prizes during the contests. The venue earns money by keeping a percentage of the earnings.
Under the water is a club, and under the club are some casino games and some (currently unused) camping. There were a few people in the club while I was there, including a DJ. There was a little bit of club chat, but most of the talking was being done by an object attached to someone at the club, and by the fishing poles. The fishing host also had lots of ascii gestures to share.
I'll call this one Club Chat.
This visit happened at about 4 pm SLT, Thursday, August 28, 20008.
